An unsourced family history says: In the 1820's Elias SMITH, a Presbyterian b 1768 NJ, and wife Nancy FOSTER b 1773 NJ came to Belmont co., Ohio from Pennsylvania with 7 of their 8 children b 1795-1813. Elias reputedly died 24 May 1833, buried Crabapple Cemetery, Uniontown. I find him only in the 1830 Uniontown census. Widow Nancy died 1860 Illinois. Can anyone confirm Elias Smith's death and burial? Does he appear in any Belmont co. records? I've confirmed most of Elias's children, which may assist someone in sorting Belmont county Smiths.
