    3. Here are some Hunkler 'tidbits" from THE HISTORY OF BARNESVILLE, by Sheppard; In 1896, the Hunkler brothers purchased the Hagedorn bakery on Arch Street. This shop had been operating for about 25 years an was located in the James Walton bldg on the east side of Arch.. considerable repairning was done which made it an up-to-date bakery and they produced a commplete line of baked goods. They used a delivery with marked success. In 1907 they erected their present concrete block building on the west side of ARch St in which they operate today (1942), quite successfully, a bakery, restaurant and have rooms for lidging. Their place of business is at #122 North Arch St." There are numerous mentions of the surname, so the family remained there, and active, through the 1940s.
