Hi, Does anyone have a suggestion about any place to research info on Belmont County between 1800 - 1815? Since there are no census records for 1800 or 1810, and my ancestor, David Reed, died there in 1815, I have no idea where anything might be found regarding him-like where he was buried, etc. Was it common to bury a person on his land at that time? What burial sites (cemeteries) were in existence at that time, in that area,(close to St. Clairsville) about 1815? His mother, Elizabeth Reed, died in 1822, and same thing is true for her-no evidence of where she is buried. Only death records are very brief legal documents and nothing personal in them.
