I need help trying to find information on James Eddy. Obit in paper spells his name EDDIE but it should be EDDY. He died in April of 1892 at the Aetna Mill in a terrible accident. He had one daughter who I believe was named Nannie Bell Eddy and that she married a Frank MERCER. I would love to try and find family members. I am trying to prove that James Eddy was the brother of my great grandfather. Obit states the following: Died Of His Injuries James Eddie, wo was so badly hurt at the Aetna mill yesterday morning by being caught in the pulley died this morning at 2:30 o'clock. he regained consciouness yesterday evening and was able to converse with those about him, although suffering great pain. Word of the accident was sent to his brothers down the river, who arrived here this morning. The remains will be taken to Matamoras tomorrow for interment. Mr. Eddie was a consistent member of the Baptis church, of this city, and was held in high esteem by his fellow workment and all with whom he was acquainted. He leaves a wife and one child about two years old. I would very much like to know what church he belonged to, what cemetery he was buried in, in Matmoras. I would also like to know what newspapers would have been in existance in this time frame. I have that this article was in the Evening Times Friday April 29, 1892. So if he lived in Belmont County, wouldn't there be other papers that would have more information on this accident at the mill? Any and all help more than appreciated. Cindy
