Hi All, I'm hoping something may have turned up during the moving/cleaning of the records. I have a James H GALLAUGHER (1809-1863) who was married 4 Mar 1830 Belmont Co to Elizabeth BLAZER. The probate court entry states there is a certificate on file as to his age by his MOTHER. (He would not have been 21 until Dec of 1830.) Are the certificates available in any way, shape or form? Also, I wrote many years ago to the Clerk of Courts (Common Pleas Court) asking for a copy of a divorce listed in the Fedorchak book as being Elizabeth C Gallaugher from Thomas in the Oct 1826 term of the court, Appearance Docket 1:63. They did not send that, and also added that the packet was no longer available. If that packet or case entry could be found, it might list any children who were underage at the time. I'm hoping these could be the parents of the above James (who would have been about 17 at the time), and that is why his mother filed with the court as to his age--usually it would have been the father. I'd be more than happy to pay for copies, postage and time if someone has the opportunity to check for these records.
