Pam Drake in IN. P.S. Take as much information as you know about your Belmont Co.ancestors when you take your trip.It will help you when you get there. For example: names,marriage to whom,birth dates,death dates,where these occurances happened. I also try to find out who the siblings were of my ancestor.Sometimes that helps you get through the back door in your research if you are stuck & hit a brick wall. Not everybody does this but I think it helps. If you are new to genealogy start back from your parents,grandparents etc.Be sure to talk to elderly relatives & ask them what they remember of their families(which are also yours).These talks help you with names you didn't know already etc. In a small enough town I have also gotten help by writing a Letter to the Editor of the local newspaper. If you are lucky & there are decendants of your ancestors still in the area the people will contact you. You can find the names of the newspapers & their addresses by doing a Search on the internet.
