    3. Does anyone have the book on Belmont Co. marriages? I am searching for the marriage of Fanny (Fannie) Ella Armstrong. In the 1860 census she was 13 and is gone in the 1870 so I really haven't much to go on. Do know she lived in Kirkwood township, Sewellsville and was the daughter of Wm. and Mercy Armstrong. Where would I start to look for deaths from the 1890's? Is there a book for those as well? I also have one other request and hope I am not making anyone upset by the questions. I have a Laney (Lanie) Armstrong in 1910 census and she is gone in the 20. I can't find her death in the Ohio death certificates so figure she died between 1910 and 1913 when this starts. She was unmarried and lived with her sister Sarah and brother William. I would like to know when she died and where buried. Thanks so much for any help you can give me. --------------------------------- Yahoo! oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links.

    3. It was state law that deaths be recorded from 1867 onward.....and, there is a death index you can check at the online Ohio Historic Society site.. http://www.ohiohistory.org/ however, there is no statewide index to death records from 1867 through 1908, so death records of those dates will be found in the county probate court where the person died....you'll need to check at the county level. Marriage records before 1948 are also housed in the probate court records of the county where they took place. I have a CD of Ohio courthouse records, but it stops at 1850, and I honestly don't know if there is one with later marriages or not. Sandra

    3. Thank you. I got ones from 1913 on up from Ohio State records but am lost on other. I guess then my next step would be to go to courthouse and search there. --------------------------------- Sucker-punch spam with award-winning protection. Try the free Yahoo! Mail Beta.
