Caldwell, pub. 1880 Bellaire Bios. CHARLES C. CRATTY was born in Washington Co., PA, 4 Jan 1837. He went to common schools and the Washington Academy, Guernsey Co., OH. He learned the trade of a tanner in his native county. He taught school for three years. He then was in the mercantile trade until 1870, at which time he became involved in the general insurance business.
