His grandfather was William WILLIAMS, of Welsh birth, and an infant when his parents emigrated to America. Daniel WILLIAMS 2nd wife was Jane JACKSON, d/o David & Elizabeth (MORRIS) JACKSON of Berks Co., PA. Jane died in 1813. There was 6 children by the 1st marriage and 6 children by the 2nd. Daniel married in 1815, his 3rd wife, Martha, d/o Joshua & Lydia MENDENHALL of Chester Co., PA. Martha d. in 1868, at nearly 95 yrs. The WILLIAMS settled in Warren Twp. on the Morristown Rd. abt. 3 miles northeast of Barnesville. Ephriam read medicine for 3 yrs. with Dr. Daniel WILLIAMS of salem, Columbiana Co., OH and started his practive at the age of 24. He first located, in 1834, at Millwood, since known as Quaker City where he stayed for 5 yrs. Then he went to Barnesville, where he remained for the next 40 yrs. He was married in 1839 to Anna, d/o Jeptha and Sarah SHARP, of Belmont Co. Mr. SHARP was an early surveyor of the county who died while still a young man. His children are Sarah T. and 3 sons deceased. (That last sentence does not make clear whether they are referring to Ephriam WILLIAMS or Mr. SHARP. A new paragraph is started, so I would guess it is reference to Ephraim, since he is the subject of the bio. and that it states "are.") -- Bonnie Burkhardt <burkhard@flash.net> <bburkhardt@juno.com>
