A. Caldwell, pub. 1880. J. M. GARDNER was b. in Barnesville in 1827 to Joseph and Susannah (BROOKBANK) GARDNER. His parents were m. in 1804 and moved to Barnesville in 1815. Joseph GARDNER was one of the first shoemakers in Barnesville. He died 3 Sep 1840, 59 yrs. old and had been a farmer since 1833. Susannah GARDNER d. 19 Oct 1850 at 60 yrs. old. Their children were: Nancy (deceased); Louisa (deceased); Wesley (deceased); Rev. Asbury; Emily (deceased); Maria (deceased); Rebecca; George (deceased); Susan (deceased); Julia and J. M. GARDNER. J.M. has been a farmer, packer and shipper of tobacco.
