Apparently the Tanneyhills were in the area at an early date, and there is an account as given by Joshua Davis, a friend of Lewis Wetzel and recorded by R.H. Tanneyhill, of a Christmas"in 1783, which was before any land had beeh offered for sale north of the Ohio or had any surveying done...when Belmont county was one wild unbroken forest." It's too long to type in, but if you'll send me a SASE I'll copy it and send it to you. Please send me some given names to go with the surname Tanneyhill, and I'll see if they're mentioned. The same goes for Judkins....many mention of the name, so include some given names to go with it! Thank you for your kind offer. Elizabeth Ruygt Gold River, CA
