Does anyone know if someone drown on the Ohio River between 1910 and 1920 would the death be recorded in Ohio or Kentucky? I am thinking this would be around Belmont County, Ohio. I am trying to find a drowning of Ella M. HOWE who was the daughter of Alexander J. EDDY and Lydia J. WILLIAMS. Ella had two brothers also that were raised by the ROSE family and went by the ROSE surname in lieu of the EDDY surname as their parents split when they were young and they were raised by the ROSE family. One son was Benjamin EDDY/ROSE the other was William EDDY/Rose. Thanks for the help

I have a will for a Jane Brewer that was produced September 27, 1880. It was written January 1, 1873. She left everything to her brother John B. Johnson. I found them both living together in the 1880 census. Jane is listed as John's sister. John B. Johnston is listed as age 66, labourer, born in VA, father born in Ireland and mother born in PA. Jane Brewer is age 76, sister, born in Virginia, father born in Ireland and mother born in PA.. My question is does anyone know what Brewer she was married to? I haven't been able to find her except in the 1880 census. Any help would be appreciated. OH yes, a record of the proceedings were given to David Johnson, Mary Buchanan, Mary Burson and Isabel Manahan. Perhaps they are all related. Thanks. I know that in another county, the spelling is often Sinkler...so, be sure you look for it when researching. Hi, I am trying to find the parents of Elizabeth Ann Sinclair born 1826 in Belmont Co., Ohio. She married Samuel Francis in 1846 in Muskingum Co., Ohio and then moved to Mo. about 1855. Samuel and Elizabeth Francis are my G-Grandparents I think that her parents are Thomas and Margerat [Duncan] Sinclair, mar. in 1823. I have the family in the 1830 US Census for Belmont Co., Ohio. There are 3 children in the census. I found that Thomas died in 1837,in Belmont Co., and in 1840 Margaret Sinclair is in the census with no children. I can not find the children after 1830 or Margaret after 1840. Thomas will, or anything else, does not name the children, so I have no idea what their names are. I am now in Salt Lake City, at the Family History Lib., and have been researching her this week, but have had no luck in connection the family with Elizabeth Ann Sinclair. Any help or ideas? Thanks Richard Swank

I voted and forwarded to others on my contact list to support such a worthy cause. Flora in Jefferson County!
Char, Time Warner is sponsoring a 'Save Our History' grant award in Ohio. The Jackson County OGS chapter was fortunate to be chosen as one of 5 finalists and is the only genealogical society or cemetery project to be nominated. Although all 5 projects are worthy recipients, PLEASE take the time to vote for the James Cemetery Restoration Project. The only hope we have is for the genealogy community to unite with us in voting as the 'competition' is based in much more highly populated areas like Columbus, etc. If awarded the grant, we will use 100% of the money towards purchase of the fence needed to enclose the cemetery to protect it from further destruction. Cemetery repair work is ongoing. Please forward this to other genealogy list, relatives and friends and ask THEM to vote as well! Thanks to all who have voted so far. Voting ends FRIDAY! I'm looking for information on Euphano Faes (sp) who lived near Flushing and died between November, 1907 and 1910. He had a wife and two children. If no one has any data, where would I go to find the information? Thanks in advance, Sigel

I checked the state death index at the OHS online site, and there is nothing for a Merchant Russell....and, deaths have been recorded at the state level since 1908. The only one I could find that could fit the bill was ; Russell, Clinton Eugene d 8-24-1939 Champaign co cert. # 467 39 You can order a copy of this from the OHS site... http://www.ohiohistory.org/resource/archlib/death1.html#deathbetween1908to1944 ' Would like for someone to check in Belmont Co death records to see if there is a death certificate for Merchant Clinton Russell. He died between 1920 & 1930 and was living in Martins Ferry. He was born Sep 30, 1874 in Meigs Co, Ohio. '
Ok, it's done. I voted. Good luck That is incorrect. ANYONE can vote. I've had folks in California tell me they voted successfully. I hope you'll take the time to vote for the cemetery project if those are your convictions. www.aroundrr.com/SaveOurHistory
