    2. Jae BROWN
    3. Thanks Randi. I ordered some wills from sampubco this year and found some great info about my family. I wanted to post the contents somewhere but had zero luck trying to get anything posted on the belmont county rootsweb site. I emailed the address listed by got no response and no will was ever posted. So I did try the link that Sandra posted today. Maybe my wills will show up there! jae On Aug 24, 2007, at 1:40 PM, Randi Meetzen wrote: > Hello, I used to always look forward from posts by this lister and > am glad to see another. I'm not sure this will be a help, but it's what I found in early tax records. 1806 Belmont Co lists a David, James, John and Wm Campbell.....this tax record doesn't include twps. 1810 has Andrew, James and William, all in Wheeling twp. I have been unable to locate/access any of the land warrant/Entrymen files for the area. On the 1811 Resident Tax List for Wheeling Township/Belmont County they are listed as proprietors of 170 acres each, Range 4, Township 8, Section 26. Any help appreciated." 1. [OHBELMON] Edward Ellison
    2. Sandra Ferguson
    3. Edward Ellison was the minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church , in St Clairsville, from 1865-1866.. (the ministers of this church stayed only for a year, for some reason) Sandra " Last Friday we drove to St Clairsville, I was looking for my great grandmothers (Ellen Pascoe) marriage license. I had the date, taken from my great grandfathers Civil War papers, 09-12-1886, Somerton, Belmont Co Ohio by Rev Edward Ellison. Of course there was nothing there, not a big surprise because I have found out that my GGF was married 5 times without the benefit of a single divorce, and in 1910 at least 4 of the wives were still alive. It probably won't help any but is there a way of tracing my GGparents through the minister who married them? Anyone know of any affiliation of Rev. Edward Ellison with any church??"
