I am attempting to research my family tree. Info I have from family members and the 1910 Ohio census is as follows: August Conrad HENSCHEL and his wife Bertha (Birdie) H. Garrett, both born in Ohio. They have a daughter, Dorothy, per 1910 census info. No age given. Census lists them as living in Martins Ferry, Belmont County. August is 32 years old and Bertha is 24 years old. My grandfather Roy August HENSCHEL was born in 1919. I have been unable to find any additional info on the net or in the geneology libraries locally. I am getting no response from requests to family members. Any and all help would be wonderful. Thank you for your time, Audrey
I haven't seen any notice of the rootsweb downtime mentioned on this list. So, just in case there are some that haven't heard, the entire rootsweb system will be unavailable, starting tomorrow, for aprox. 24 hours......the following was issued by the RootsWeb staff; Starting at 8 a.m. PST Friday, February 23, RootsWeb will begin a planned temporary downtime for maintenance of its servers and hosting process. It will limit this downtime as much as possible, and will return with increased performance and reliability for future growth. In the meantime, please take time to visit RootsWeb.COM's sister sites -- Ancestry.com and FamilyHistory.com -- where you will find additional tools such as message boards, communities, and databases to help you in the search for your ancestors. Thank you for your patience. --The RootsWeb Staff

Hello, Does anyone know where to look for the county that Springfield, Ohio was located in 1900? It's now in Clark County. Ancestry's "census images" does not show a Clark county in 1900.. Thanks very much, Breezy Fuquay
>From the Barnesville Enterprise, Thursday, March 20, 1884. If you had anyone who was in school then, chances are they will be in here... "On Saturday afternoon and evening a remarkable exhibition was given in the Public School Building of Barnesville. It was an Exposition of the handiwork of the children of all ages and both sexes. The project while not exactly "an Ohio idea" is a new thing in this State where we believe it was first put into practical operation at Barnesville. It was evolved and expanded by Prof. Peek, who turned the matter over to his executive officer, Joseph Bundy, teacher No. 10, who expended considerable time and labor in engineering the scheme. The other teachers and pupils entered heartily into the work, the children caught the inspiration of the occasion and the result was a grand surprise party for the entire community. Nearly every child in the school had produced some article which required taste or skill. The exhibition as a whole was unique and attractive and on all sides were heard expressions of astonishment and approval at the wonderful work of the busy little hands. The Exposition expressed an important educational idea, a sombination of the trained hand with the educated brain, making the completely educated man. It is as important to do as to think and here was combined both the thought and skillful manipulation...... Carol Montrose; The photographic aspect on the Belmont County site is still nonfunctioning, unchanged from when I notified you earlier. Did you try visiting? If so, you'll know that this is the screen you get, making it impossible to either view other photographs, or submit your own. Could you please repair it?
