    1. [OHBELMON-L] Records at Belmont Co. Courthouse
    2. Connie S. Barries
    3. To All, I was reading the response to Breezy about the Will of William Todd. I recently started doing research at the Courthouse in Vital Records and Probate. This is some information for those of you who want to do research in Belmont County. If the Index shows a book # and page, the Will is in the file cabinets in the office. If there is no # and page, then you have to write down the case number and leave it at the desk with all your contact information. They will have to find the record in storage and it may take a couple of weeks to a month before you hear from them because they are getting backlogged a little bit. It is $1.00 per page to have them copied because they are large and they copy them for you. Certified copies of births and deaths are $3.00 each. I will find out the price for Naturalization Records. I am doing research on small fee basis if anyone needs records from the Courthouse or Health Departments. I own two books that I can do lookups in, these are the 1870 Census of Belmont County and the Greenwood Cemetery Book. Also, records cannot be ordered by calling the Courthouse. They do not do lookups, you must get them yourself or have someone get them for you. Joan (Joanne Rogers was doing lookups for Belmont County. Sadly, she passed away on May 9, 2000. She had resided in Barnesville, Ohio and she loved helping anyone who needed help in Belmont County. We have lost one our best researchers. I can never fill her shoes, but I would like to help continue her tradition of helping. I hope this has been helpful to those of you coming to do your own research or for those of you who cannot come to Belmont County do the research yourself. Connie McGilton Barries cbarries@1st.net

He married Annie PRICE in 1828 amd moved to Section 20 where William G. TODD was born, April 11, 1832. William lived with his father until he married Margaret THOMPSON, by whom he had two children: Matthew C. and Sadie A., who married Job REYNOLDS. After William's wife died he married Sarah Jane HOOD on 11 Sep 1866. The children of the 2nd marriage are Salona V. and Willie H. TODD Well, if your William was a Rev. 1. [OHBELMON-L] Belmont-Barnesville History
    2. I am still here but I am buried deep in these microfilms. In the mid 1880's the same gentleman who wrote the history of Belmont County did a 12 paper Christmas special for the Barnesville Enterprise. I have been trying to copy it and that takes most of my time-but it is chocked full of people. There is also a Centenial Edition in the early 1900's that has page after page of Barnesville people who came for the event. I have at least 200 more obituaries to post and if you have emailed me and not gotten a response, don't worry, I will get to it. But I thought it was important to try to get this recorded. There is also a similar history for Somerton (yeahhhhh). Pam
