    3. Thanks Martha: I know for a fact he died on 12/10/1908 I have Card from the Belmont City Lodge No. 221 I.O.O.F. that states that he died on that date. Could it be possible that he died like in the Wheeling Hospital or while he was away?? He is in the Warrington Cemetery with a Blank head stone. ( the card was printed in 1908)

    3. An ancestor of mine, ARAMINTA REED SMITH, died in Clarington, Monroe county, Ohio, in 1859. Clarington is located on the Ohio River, just below Belmont county. Her obituary appeared in, I believe, the newspaper from Woodsfield, which is about the same distance from Barnesville as it is from Clarington. So, one of my questions is "What newspaper would those in Barnesville, Belmont county have read? Is it possible that they also might have read the Woodsfield newspaper?" I ask because I believe Araminta was from the Barnesville area, and her husband (or the newspaper) printed under her obit, JEFFERSON COUNTY PAPERS PLEASE COPY.....this was because her husband, JAMES R. SMITH, was from Jefferson County, and his parents and siblings stilI lived there......so, if her family was from Barnesville, why they didn't request the Belmont County newspaper to copy? Was it because the Woodsfield newspaper was the one read in Barnesville? Sandra

    3. Others may not be familiar with the genweb archives, where people submit records that concern the various states. To read these, go to http://www.usgenweb.com/ scroll down on the right, under Archives, till you see the State Archives search engine...click on it, and then fill in the name of whom you seek info, putting " " around the name, and highlight the state....this will give you all entries, for that state, that contain the name " " you have typed in. I will encourage you to please submit copies of any legal documents you have ...i.e. . wills, marriage certificates, death certificates, ANYTHING that will be of help to others....as you have been helped, please help someone else. 3. Pat, I have 2 John Myers, father and son. The elder John is also married to a Margaret (JEFFERS), but the dates are wrong. John Sr. was b. ca. 1840 and John (C.) Jr. was born ca. 1871. The elder John was the s/o James Myers and Mary HATHORN. James was the one who died young. Mary HATHORN was the sister (I think) of my gr-gr-grandmother, Louisa Ann Hathorn. This line married into my Hathorn line, but there was another Myers (Samuel B.) who married into my Lashley line (Mary). I don't yet have a wife for John C. Myers. I just ordered another copy of the "History of Belmont & Jefferson Cos., OH" from Higginson Books. They are doing a reprint on it. With shipping will cost in the range of $80-$90. It has an index while mine does not, altho. I do have an index on film, that I had the Ohio Historical Society film for me. Higginsons is online at <http://www.higginsonbooks.com> -- Bonnie Burkhardt <burkhard@flash.net> <bburkhardt@juno.com> Ernie and Pat Brown wrote: > Hi Bonnie, > > You are so generous.
