    1. Re: [OHBELMON-L] STARKEY
    2. List members, In response to a request to submit gathered information on the STARKEY/STARKY family, I record the following. I think there is a long-term connection between my SCOTT family, the COLLINS family, and some BRICE family somewhere back in Pennsylvania. There seems to be a concentration of these families in the Mifflin County area. Brice COLLINS, son of John and Catherine, husband of Ann and/or Martha, was the father of Catherine, wife of my 3ggf, David SCOTT. Would be very happy to find someone who has some additional information on any of these clues. Lorraine I. 3. Hi, I'm descended from Christian Troll whose family came from Waldeck in 1859. He was a cousin to Frank and Conrad who lived in St. Clairsville. There was also a Lewis who settled in Wheeling, but I have nothing on him. I believe, from looking at Wheeling census records, that there was another Troll family there which came from another part of Germany. I have everything I could find in the Landau, Waldeck church records on the Trolls, and nothing matches with the Wheeling Trolls who say they're from Germany. Ruth

    2. Maybe this will also help as another marriage is between Jacob Calvert Jr and Matilda Ann Daniel on February 19, 1835. Other Calvert marriages before 1850 are Ann, Cornella, Esther, Hannah, John (3 of them), Margaret, Marietta, Mary (2 of them), Nathan, Sarah (2 of them), and William. Any of these sound like you need them. The earlier ones are Hannah, 2 Johns (which might be the same person listed twice) and Nathan. The Shepard, Shephard, Shepheard, are Dorcas, Frederick, Hudson, Isaiah, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Phenis, but there are many many Shepherd and the Mary is not your Mary and Jacob. If you need any help let me know. Jerilyn

    2. Still searching for information on a Wadsworth, possibly John Wadsworth who married Ruth Lappin in probably Fayette Co., before 1800. Children known for sure were Martha and Rachel. In 1820, if I have the correct family they had two boys under 10, and one boy 16-18. They also had 4 girls under ten. According to our records if I have the right family they remained in Fayette Co., for 1800 and 1810 and were in Belmont Co., OH in 1820. They seem to have went back to Fayette Co., in 1830 and then back in Oh for 1840. Between 1840 and 1850 the two daughters we know of were married, but 3 other girls by the name of Wadsworth have been found by the name of Emily, Ruth and Alcinda. In 1850 they were either in Belmont Co or Morgan Co. OH. Legend has it that the whole family died from disease except for Martha and Rachel. Believe they had a son Robert and another named John possibly. Emily Wadsworth married Elihu Bailey and had children Ruthann, Alvin and Casanor by 1850 and were living in Washington Co., OH. Ruth Wadsworth married Jason Stuffs by 1841, but seems to have been deceased by 1850 when he is found in Washington Co., OH. Rachel married William Ewers in 1844 and is also found in Washington Co., OH in 1850. with children Joseph C. and Martha E. Martha Ann married George Coffland or Coughlan after 1845 and Alicinda may have married James Helmes although listed as no return for marriage. Do any of these names mean anything to you. 1. [OHBELMON-L] STARKEY
    2. Hi - Since so many of us are stuck on the Starkey family, do you think we could all put our Starkey information on this page so we can compare. We are all running in circles and if we could all put what we know to be true on, then we can perhaps eliminate a lot of work. The Starkey family seems to be in southern Belmont and northern Monroe Co. during the early 1800s and then most of them left. Several of us have a Starkey ancestor that just stops in Ohio and we don't know who the parents are, siblings or anything. I have tried the Starkey Surname pages and it gets us too far afield. I will start off with my problem Phoebe Starkey, born January 2, 1810, in PA (according to the census records). She was married on September 22, 1828, in Belmont Co., Ohio to Robeson/Robinson Lappin. Who are her parents? Who are her siblings? I know nothing more about her. From the naming of her children perhaps sisters named Eliza and Rachel. Maybe daughter of George or John as named sons these names.
