hello , i am looking for david landers born approx 1880,unsure where. he married a clara roach. in 1927 he was listed as a coalminer in powhaten ohio and a home address in wheeling wv. he may have lived in bridgeport oh or west wheeling. they had at least 7 children,3 who died in infancy and 1 given up for adoption in 1927. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you rhonda hicks

Linda. I am a McMullen descendant. I have found all these spellings in the same lines of people in my family. Now with that out of the way, I am the Ggrandaughter of Barbara Ellen McMullen, dau of Ezra McMullen, son of Richard McMullen. The only John I show in our line is a John C. McMullen b abt 1815, but I show a John Jr. 1850 Census, Belmont Co. OH. I also have a John McMillen, Civil War, Co. C 14th WV Infantry, who is buried in Pine Grove Cem. Pleasants Co. WV. Hi Belmont County Listers, I want to share an old newspaper article I found in my Grandma's bible. The name of the newspaper is unknown except for the fact that it was from Belmont County, Ohio. The article is titled "MOORE FAMILY HAS 2ND REUNION" "The second annual Moore reunion was held September 1 in the home of Benson Moore, south of Jerusalem. A bountiful basket dinner was served at noon, after which a short program was given. The following officers were elected for next year: President, S. M. Thomas; secretary, Ethel Burns; treasurer, Bessie Moore; Zenas Powell, Pearl Thomas and La Varna Moore were appointed to look after the program for the 1930 meeting to be held at the home of Linton Moore, Bethesda, the first Sunday in September. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Benson Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Moore, Delton Moore, Bessie Moore, Clara Moore, Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Thomas, Verona Thomas, Inez Thomas, Wilma Thomas and Blaine Thomas of Jerusalem, Mr. and Mrs. Lenton Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Moore, Alma Moore, Helen Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Moore, Mr. and Mrs. W. I already answered it....and, received it myself, from the list.......are you having a problem with your email?......this was my email to the list; The courthouse in St. Clairsville has births 1867-1982, deaths 1867-1908 and 1940--1982 and marriage 1803 to the present. Remember, just because someone was born, married or died in Belmont doesn't mean that there will be any record of the event at the courthouse. These things were not legally required for many years, and as such, many didn't bother recording them. . You do your own looking at the courthouse, and everything is by year, so don't forget the dates you're interested in. You may make copies of the records found there. Across the street is the library, with a very nice genealogical department that includes books on the area, plus newspapers on film, cemetery records, county histories, and the census you mentioned will also be there. Rather than take up time with census on site, why don't you order them from your local LDS before the trip?.....it always seems a shame to me to travel somewhere and do there what you could just as easily have done before the trip. That way you're all ready, with the dates, names, etc before you go, and have a better idea of what you will be looking for. Do as much as you can at home, have everything ready, and know what you are looking for , and be specific (don't just write births, but say b. of Sarah Jane Lake, ? 1854).....make lists.......I think it might be a good idea for you to go to the library first, as you may find actual dates in cemetery books, early birth books,etc.....then, you can see if there is a certificate at the courthouse.
