I have an Sarah Bray living with William & Elizabeth Simpson in Mead twp on 1860 census, Elizabeth is 48 & Sarah is 54 so don't think it's a mother, think it might be a widowed sister. I have located a James Bray in washington twp pg 51 of the 1840 census index that doesn't show up in the 1850 index, & Sarah wasn't living with Elizabeth & William in 1850. Wondering if Sarah was married to James, who might have died between 1840 & 1860 & maybe just fell through the cracks on the 1850 census. Anyone have any ideas? Linda

I've been told by family members that 2 of my gr grandfathers brothers were named Doudna, Chester & Charles. So far I haven't been able to find any conecction of the McMillen name to the Doudna name. Any one have any information on marriages connecting these names possibly John's father James, he married an Elizabeth Phillips 3/24/1859 he was born abt 1825- 1827. There is a James on the 1850 census in Pultney married to a Margaret, but don't know if this is same James as it didn't list any children. Can anyone help me sort this out? Linda

Is there a listing of burials in Malaga Cemetery? I am looking for information concerning Samuel & Nancy STEELE who are buried in Malaga beside Phoebe (LONG) & Valentine GATES. Stone is in very bad shape but date of death has a few numbers semi-legible - it was possibly 1835.Could this Nancy STEELE be Nancy (Anne) BRILL NOFFSINGER, widow of Mathias NOFFSINGER? (Mathias died in 1808; a Nancy NOFFSINGER m. Samuel STEELE 30 Dec 1817) One of the daughters of Mathais & Nancy NOFFSINGER married Daniel GATES. She and Daniel are buried in Captina Cem. Assuming this is the same Nancy, did any other NOFFSINGER children marry into the GATES family to account for burial with the Valentine Gates families in another cemetery?
