My name is David hinton and I am descended from Josiah Hinton, born in Belmont County August 24, 1815. His father's name was William. William died in Belmont County around 1828 and I have a copy of his will. The Wheeling Room, at the Wheeling Library on Chapline St. has newspapers of the area on film.....contact them, for dates and names of the papers. West Wheeling, to my knowledge , was not a separate place, but simply a portion of Wheeling proper. Greetings, I'm hoping someone out there will be able to help me locate some information on my husband's grandmother. I have posted before, but have a little additional information which may help. I think her name was Eva Burkhart. Her husband was Alonzo W. Lucas and she is listed in his obituary as Mrs. Eva Lucas. He was born in 1874 and so I expect that she was born around the same time.
