    3. I haven't been following this very closely, but I have a lovely picture of a Rebecca Davis, b 1845 according to my info, who was married to John Shepherd. I am not related to her though there is some sort of complicated Shepherd connection, but I inherited my greatgrandmother's stash of pictures and the note on the back in her hand says that Rebecca was a neighbor when they lived in Ohio. (My greatgrndmother was Rosetta Lupher Gilson Taylor Osborne - she was in Belmont Co, Ohio during her Taylor period.) If this Rebecca is one of yours - you Davis researchers - and you would like a copy, contact me and I will send a scan. I do not know who her parents were. 3. The following is from THE CENTENNIAL HISTORY OF BELMONT COUNTY, by McKelvey....interesting stuff. Jadob Davis, SR, emigrated from MD, in 1802. However, the old town *(Bellaire), was not laid out till 1834. 5 years earlier, Jacob Davis, Jr, built a log house with the aid of the militia who had collected there to muster, and this building was only removed in 1870 to give way to an implement and machine factory. The land upon which the dity proper was built as a government grant to John Duer, in 1792. He sold the land to John Buchanan and his sons in turn sold to Davis. in 1832 Capt John Fink purchased the tract south of the creek, from Jacob Davis, for $1,400. in April, 1834, Mr. Davis laid out 5 acres of the remaining land, on the plateau included in his purchase, in town lots, calling the place Bell Air, after his home town in Md...... 3. I am interested in find Charles H. Miller born Ohio about 1878. He is listed in the 1920 census as married To Martha Ann Colgan. I know he was born near Bellaire area. I had other relatives living there that I visited as a child. My other family members there were Emma Colgan Padgett. She is Martha's sister. She passed away in 1918, born in 1891. Charles had 5 children and all were living on Vance ave. Wheeling in 1920. By 1930 they were living in Pa. Only 4 children were living. One named Clement died by falling out of a window between 1920-1930. Most of the people we came to see when I was really small lived in Bridgeport Bellaire area. Full name was Charles H. Miller. Father is said to have had the same name. Thanks for any help I can get Char Miller Jones --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Search - Find what youre looking for faster.

    3. Donna, unfortunately, there were two Thomas Timothy WRIGHTs, apparently both born in 1823 (though some census' differ). My Thomas Timothy was the child of John and Frances (Mason) WRIGHT. The other one was the child of Benjamin John WRIGHT and Jane BROOMHALL. I chased down both families and have determined by a letter from Frances to her son T.T. in Henry Co., IL after he moved there, that John and Frances were the correct parents. Obviously a family friend, but I thought perhaps if there is a relative out there, they might like these two clippings. They are not dated but appear to be in good shape. Just email me. Pam Klemm
