Hi I have been trying to find the parents of Hamilton Bailey. Some information has been provided to me by listers that has been interesting but I have not been able to tie it down. According to the IGI, there was a Hamilton Bailey, born in Glencoe, Belmont County, Oct. 6, 1804. According to family information, this is the correct person but the place of birth is wrong. I know of the site that has tax lists for Belmont County back to 1811 or so. Can anyone tell me where I might find information on Bailey settlers from the 1804 time frame, in Belmont County? HI, Wanda, This is probably stuff you already know. I did a quick search on Ancestry.com of Quaker records and there are Crums in the Quaker records. If you don't have access to Ancestry, I'll look again for Christiana. There is a book of old Belmont County tombstsone inscriptions. I don't have access to it but I think there are people on the list who do. A site called sampubco.com has some Belmont County wills. But if your ancestor turns out to be Quaker, you probably will have more luck with Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy Vols 4 & 5. But I don't know that there were many records in Belmont County 1830 and before. I rather doubt you could find a death certificate, but maybe someone on the list knows better than I do. Linda, My Wileys came to Belmont County in 1808 and lived in Union Township. My great grandfather, James Wiley, was born in 1834. Any relationship? I am looking for anyone connected to the Isaac Wood b. 1781 d. 1860in Ohio. Isaac married Clarkey Hanson b 1792 and died 1860 in Ohio. They were Quakers and were married 1814 Stillwater Meeting, Belmont Co., Ohio. Seth Wood (My grgrgrandfather) was born 1815 at Belmont County, Ohio. Seth married Eliza Ann Newman b. 1817 Ohio died 1870 Lucas Co. IA. Seth Wood and his family and Will Neuman family moved to Lucas Co., IA approximately 1855.
