My name is Sue Bedson. My grandfather was born in Coolville, Athens County, Ohio. Information I have on the family so far: Claudius C. Conklin was born May 17, 1844 near the Hudson River in NY to Stephen Conklin and Elizabeth No_____(can't read). He was one of 10 siblings, the only other one I know of is Clinton b: abt 1831 in NY. He joined the infantry during the Civil War with a regiment in NJ, he married Sarah Katherine Cunningham June 11, 1871 in Ritchie County, West Virginia, his first born, Lineus Conklin was born in 1872 in WVA. They moved to Coolville, Athens County, Ohio. Their 2nd son, Albert Lorenzo Conklin was born October 07, 1873 in Coolville, their 3rd son (my grandfather) Austin Otis Conklin was born March 15, 1876 in Coolville.
