This was probably written after a family reunion held in the 1930's. The most recent date mentioned is 1947. Given the name, it's highly likely the Kingsman Jr. is the son of Kingsman Dutton, but there are some questions. There is a documented marriage between Kingsman Dutton and Ruth Watson on 27 Dec 1756 in New Hampshire, but Ann Routh was still alive at the time. Kingsman and Ann left the Quakers after being married by a priest (minister who was not a Quaker). Ann rejoined in 1748. Perhaps this caused a divorce (in the 1700's!!). John Dutton with wife (Mary Darlington) and four children (John Jr. Edward, Thomas and Robert) came to America in 1682 and settled on a 500 acre tract in Ashton Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Delaware Co. is in SE corner of Pennsylvania adjacent to Philadelphia Co. They are believed to have come from England with Wm. Penn. [probably not true] 2. John Dutton Jr. married Elizabeth Kingsman. No other information is available. 3. Kingsman Dutton, son of John Jr. died 1765. Occupation: miller and sawyer. First wife, Anne Routh, married 1737. Children, Francis and David. Second wife, Ruth Watson, married 1756. Child, Kingsman, Jr. 4. Kingsman Dutton, Jr., son of Kingsman, Sr. and Ruth Watson, born 1759 died 1834 or 37, married Mary Craig, 1784. Children, James, Jane, John, Kingsman, Samuel, Craig, Mary and Ruth. Moved from Philadelphia to Frederick Co. Virginia in 1787 or 88 and lived in three or four places there and in Hampshire Co. (Hampshire Co. is in what is now West Virginia) until moving to Wood Co., Va. (now in West Virginia) in 1802 and to Troy Township, Athens Co., Ohio (Hockingport) in 1806. 5. Samuel Dutton, son of Kingsman, Jr. born 1794, died 1883. Married Nancy Brookhart (1800-1861) in 1821. Children, James and Lydia (1824-1868). Lydia married John Palmer. 6. James Brookhart Dutton, 1821-1873. Married Hannah Humphrey (1829-1886) in 1853. Children, Clara Elizabeth (1857-1892), Edwin Augustus (1859-1936), Lucy Irene (1860- 1901). 7. Edwin Augustus Dutton, 1859-1936, married Lethe Rebecca Curtis (1858-1935) in 1884. Children, Herbert Palmer (1887-1947), Walter Curtis(1889-[1962]) and Clarence Edwin (1894-[1968])
