Hi... I am interested in getting a divorce petition from Athens County, circa 1868. Do they have them that far back? I do know the year, I do not know the specific date; do I need that? My Athens Co. line are mostly Vernons, with a few Brooks and Dilles mixed in there for fun. My great-great grandfather, Elijah Vernon, for reasons unknown, decided not to come back from serving in the Civil War. His wife, Lydia Patterson, decided he was dead and remarried in Jan. 1868; THEN my greatgreatgrandpa shows up.
