Hello Athens List, I mailed away for a copy of my 2nd Great-Grandfather James Thomas PERRY (born 19 JAN 1878 York Twp.) birth Certificate from Athens County Court House. Today I received a zerox copy of a page out of an Index book. He was listed on one of the lines half-way down the page with other births above and below. I asked for a Certificate which is only for the one person and list more information about the child's parents and personal data. I was curious as to why I didn't receive a Certificate form style? Why as an Index Listing? I have gotten birth Certificates of earlier dates from Virginia state Courts and was wondering why Ohio Courts doesn't do the same? Does anyone know when did Ohio state start using the Certificate forms instead of Index listings? Thanks. ~Debbie [email protected]
