Tricia: I am descended from one of the Pickett families who lived in Athens County. Rebecca Pickett (1786-1872), daughter of James Pickett, Sr., married John Connett in Athens Co. I have not been able to piece together the family of James Pickett, but he might have came from NJ as did the Connett family. Abraham Connett (1791-1819), brother to John Connett, married Hannah Pierce (1792-1870). Abraham and Hannah Connett had three children between 1815 and 1819, but I do not know their names. After Abraham died, Hannah Pierce Connett married Jesse McKee and had at least one son, John McKee, who married a Rebecca Pickett. I know nothing else about this Rebecca, but a few members of the Pickett family are buried in the Connett Cemetery near Nelsonville. I am looking for any additional information I can find about these families. J.
