I was recently in the Toledo Ohio library and found a book I had not seen before: "Athens Co. Family History, 1987" compiled by Beverly Schumacher and Mary L. Bowman with the Athens Co. Historical Society & Museum. It is a series of family histories of those living now in Athens Co. Evidently contributed by them. Luckily, one of the families was that of Thomas Lewellen who I had berated for only mentioning his sons in his will (and only three). I had hoped to tie my Susan Llewellyn who married Joshua King - to Thomas. Lo and Behold - the book did it for me. At the same time, an e-mail cousin gave me his wife's name. For any interested party: Thomas Lewellen (or variants thereof) I have a birth date of 1784, VA. d. c. 1849, m. Mary Gough d. c. 1863, dau of Joshua and Charity Lunsford Gough, 7-30-1804 Monongalia Co. Va., now WVa. They had: John b. 3-16-1807, d. 1-25-1895 buried Minear Cem., Lee twp. m. Mary McDonald, dau. Ellen (I also see it as Eleanor) Smithley 11-9-1843 Abraham b. 1823 m. Samantha Gabrill 1-4-1849 Lunsford b. 1825 m. Susanna Friedline 11-2-1845 Nathan b. 1828 d. 1900, m. Elizabeth Day 3-27-1850 George b. 1830 m. Dorcas Gabriel 12-23-1852 The Lewellen descendant mentions also Thorn, Dunn, Trout, Rowell - in the John Lewellen (oldest son of Thos.) family. On the pages there is a Levering (Gaspers) family, John H. Lewis (Voltingburg) and Edward Linscott (Anderson, Chauncey, Coe families). Sad to say - no King families are listed. Surely all the many many Kings born of Joshua and his family one or two have to still be in Athens Co. Pat Snyder
