The main surname I am researching right now is HOISINGTON. It is also spelled in a variety of ways (Hossington, Hassington,Hissington, Hasselton, Hazelton, Hossenton, etc.) in various documents. In Athens County, it was even spelled HYSELTON in the 1810 census. Thank goodness, my forebears had unusual first names (Barzava and Joab)!
