Matilda BISHOP b 1836 d 1909 first married to George STANLEY. They had a daughter Henrietta (Etta) who married Isral SWARTZ. Isral was the son of William SWARTZ and Mary DAY. I've found several of them in Carthage Twp in the Ohio Census records. Isral and Henrietta's son Virgil b 1880, worked in the oil fields. He was sent to Wetzel Co, WV to work on a well. While there he met Myrtie VanDYNE and the rest was history. Virgil's obit stated that several siblings still lived in Athens Co. Would like to hear from anyone with these names. He is living in LaPorte Indiana and talks of his trip to the gold fields of California, his boat trip and seeing "Dr. Mansfield" and a "Christoher Armitage and Isaac Desler on the journey. The letter is written in 1851 to his sister, Sophia. I thought, perhaps, this might be something that perhaps Joy would like to have included sometime on the Athens County page, if so, please let me know. Hi all, I am researching Robinson/Conant/Driggs cir 1820 - current-- Amesville area in 1820's for sure. I am having the most problem with my Robinson Line- Benjamin F. Robinson married Charlotte Conant in 1846. Charlotte was from Amesville. Their son Jeremiah later married Ruth Ann Driggs, who was from Amesville. I have the Conant and the Driggs direct lines back to 1500's, searching for additional descendants, and will be happy to share what I have. But who are Benjamins parents/siblings????? Lydia Elma Howard was born 2 Oct 1810 in Athens Co., OH. Her father was Elisha Howard. She married John Milton Culver there Abt 1831. She died 23 Sep 1879 in Nelsonville, Athens Co., OH. It sure would be nice if someone out ther has heard of any of these people! Or if any of you have any advice about where I might look.
