    2. Edwin Hunter
    3. Gene: I noticed one of my family names in your list ...one that I rarely if ever get a hit on! It is HUCK. My father's sister, Catherine Hunter, born in Ashland, OH, 1904, married Ralph (Rafael Francis Joseph Anthony) Huck Jul 1928 in Chicago, IL. Ralph was born in Quincy, IL. I have a fair amount of their family tree, both prior to Ralph and since. If there is a connection here, let me know. Some names in the Huck tree: Burge, Tetard, Gershweller, Geyer. The Huck's came from Alsace-Lorraine. Ted

    1. [OHASHLAN-L] WILLIAM I. and JANE McCRELIAS HUNTER Abt 1836-1839
    2. Edwin Hunter
    3. I am trying to find the parents of this couple. William Irwin Hunter was born in Franklin Co., PA in 1780. Jane McCrelias was born in Ireland in 1800. They were married in 1826 in Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland Co., PA. Four of their children were born in Mt. Pleasant [Mary -1827; Isabelle -1830; Anna -1831; Rachel -1836] Sometime between Rachel's birth and that of their son, Thomas S. Hunter, they moved to Ashland Co., OH. Thomas was born Dec 1839 in Vermillion Twsp. He married Catherine Blocher Apr 1866 in Canaan Twsp., Wayne Co., OH, and he later became a physician, living in Ashland, with offices on Center Street. Thomas and Catherine had two children: (1) Edna Alline Hunter -b Jan 1877, who married Thomas O. Stearns and lived at 1001 (?) Center St. [across from the Miller home] They had no children. (2) John Lieutullus Hunter -b Jun 1864, who married Fannie E. Fuhr of Alliance. Their children were Catherine b Jun 1904, George T. b Jul 1905, and Elizabeth b Jan 1907. They lived at 818 Center St. When all three children had been married, George and his wife, Janet T. Ritchie, lived at 818 Center, and I was born to them Mar 1933. In 1945 we moved to Wadsworth, Medina Co., OH, and my mother, Janet (Jean) still lives there. I know William Irwin Hunter's mother was Elizabeth Irwin, and that her parents were William and Martha Irwin, probably of Cumberland Co., PA. But I can't find anything in the Hunter line beyond William. I can fill in some of the family following William, but I need to find out about the Hunters before him. Any help would be appreciated. Ted

    1. Henry SMITH
    2. Hello, I'm researching the family of Henry Smith and Leah Wollam who came from Columbiana Co., OH to Ashland Co. about 1846. I have a list of his children from the 1850 census, but wonder if there were one or two others not shown on that census. Their marriage in Columbiana Co., OH in 1820. Do any of the desc. of Henry and Leah (and I know there must be plenty!) know if there was a probate filed after his death that would name all his children? Our desc. from son Samuel Smith who m. 1856 to Mary Murray. Glad to share.
