Lima Daily Times, Aug 26, 1889 Thomas MERRIFULL's infant child, five weeks old, died this morning at the family residence, No. 736 North Main street. Burial to-morrow, at the old cemetery. E.C. LUKE of Ft Wayne is the guest of Ray CRUM. Charlie JAEGER, who has been laid up about three weeks with a sprained ankle, is able to be at work again in his old place, at Gore & Co's. Rev. C.H. ECKHARDT, yesterday morning held regular services in St. Matthew's (Lutheran) church near Cridersville, and in the afternoon funeral services over the body of the infant child of J.W. BOWSHER. The little one died very suddenly on Saturday afternoon, about 3 o'clock. The funeral was a large one. The members of St. Matthews have put a good fence around their graveyard, making a big improvement. Some person or persons set fire to straw in rear of Ed TOWNSEND's barn, west North street, Saturday evening; but the flames were discovered in time to prevent the destruction of the building. H.L. TOBIAS, a well drummer for a Dayton grocery house, has been lying ill with inflammation of the bowels at the Phalen House, Delphos, for a week; and is in a very dangerous condition. Miss Winnifred SULLIVAN left this morning for Hamilton, Ohio, where she sings before the Butler County Teacher's Association, to-day. Mr. A.H. FERNEDING will accompany her as far as Dayton. The funeral of Geo. HARPSTER, step-son of A. CRIDER was largely attended yesterday. Rev. A.J. FISH held services at the family residence, west of the county infirmary, and the interment was in Woodlawn cemetery. Miss Genia KEATING, of DeGraff, O., is visiting Miss Katie McCARTY, N. Union street. Miss Etta SHEARER, of West Mckilbin ( probably McKibben) street, has gone to Mansfield, where ahe will remain with relatives. Misses Margaret RYAN and Maggie CALLAHAN, of Dayton are the guest of the Misses CALLAHAN, N. Elizabeth St. Wm. A. BOYER and Mary R. GRAHAM, a couple from Hume, became one by marriage at the Arlington Hotel, Saturday night. Miss Maud NICHOLS, of Wapak, and Mr. A.H. FERNEDING, of Dayton after a delightful visit to Misses Mayme and Winnifred SULLIVAN have returned to their respective homes. Mr. Thos. A. COLLINS and wife, of this city, and John COLLINS, of Wapakoneta, Ohio and Miss Annie O. VEIL, of N. West street, spent Sunday in Cridersville, the guests of P.H. FLAHIE. The public schools open next Monday morning. Willie HOOVER was at Delphos yesterday. David SIFRED and family of Wapakoneta, spent Sunday in the city. Miss Anna DUNN has returned from a visit with friends in Wapakoneta. On Saturday evening a license was issued for the marriage of Elmer BACHELDER and Katie ORCHARD.
