The Lima News, Lima, Allen County, Ohio November 21, 2004 Wapakoneta Verda MCKINNEY GOODSON BURGER, 87, formerly of Logan, West Virginia, died at 5:20 p.m. November 19, 2004, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born June 21, 1917, in Grethel, Ky., to Tom and Martha Deal McKinney, who preceded her in death. On July 3, 1934, she married Lloyd E. Goodson, who died July 31, 1955. On Feb.3, 1961, she married David Burger, who died Oct. 21, 1991. Mrs. Burger was a homemaker. She was a devoted member of the Christian Victory Tabernacle, Wapakoneta, where she was active in many church activities. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. Survivors include two sons, Ed (Phyllis) Goodson of Lima and Larry (Retha) Goodson of Mansfield; three daughters, Lou Stech of Sarasota, Florida, and Joyce (Jim) McDonald and Brenda (Bill) Baker, both of Wapakoneta; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Adalian of California; 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a step-grandchild; a brother, Clell (Cleo) McKinney of California; a sister, Ruth Miller of Chapmanville, West Virginia; and a daughter-in-law, Helen Ruth Goodson of Boswell, Maryland. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Goodson; a daughter, Gay Goodson; a grandchild; two brothers, Obra and Herman Lee McKinney; and a sister, June McKinney. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christian Victory Tabernacle, Wapakoneta. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Victory Tabernacle.
