Lima Daily Times, Sept 10, 1890 The funeral of Miss Ollie JOHN was held at the M.E. Church in Elida yesterday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. D.R. COOK, of this city, conducting the services. She was the daughter of Abis JOHN, of Elida , and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Her death occurred Saturday morning, and resulted from consumption. Lawyer ADGATE, of Lima, was in town last week on legal business. Dr. WISELY went over to Ottawa last week on professional business. Lou MAYBERRY and family, of Iowa, and Mrs. Martin LEWIS arrived here Saturday. Miss Lulu SHULL leaves this week for a visit in Kansas. The brick masons are through with their work at Amherst school house, and the carpenters will soon have it enclosed. It seems as though somebody had raised considerable corn in Perry, for Mr. HARROD and Henry APPLE are building a large pair of double cribs. J.B. SEVERNS, one of Perry townships's best Democrats, and a good farmer, leaves with his family next week for a new home in Colorado. Stephen DOTSON, who lives near West Minster, has quit farming and gone into the oil field. Corn cutting is in full blast, but there are no sore hands because of big ears. John FAULKNER, leader in singing at Amherst, will soon change his politics and go in the small fruit business. The farmers who didn't sell their hay during the dry spell, missed it, for the recent rains have made the pasture excellent . The child of Alpha LEEDOM, who was so ill with cholera infantum, is much better. Miss Minnie FAULKNER is convalescing rapidly. Harley MARRIOTT is on the sick list. Hogs are getting to be cheap, Unfatted hogs can be bought at 1 cent per pound and small pigs are given away. Please remember this and compare with prices one year hence. The ten schools of Perry township will soon begin their winter's work. The first will be Nos. 1 and 2 in Perry special district with C.A. GRAHAM and Wm. DAVIS as teachers. Both commencing Sept 8. H.
