Lima Daily News, Oct 15, 1913 Mrs. Rachel HILYARD and grandpa Steward ASKINS left Saturday for Indiana where they will visit her son John HILYARD and family. Mrs. Mary PARKER, J.C. BABAR and family attended church at Allentown Saturday night and Sunday. Mr. John SHERRICK north of town is seriously ill with blood poison in the hand. Miss Auldine ERNMAN and Foss MAYER were the guests of Miss Rosia WILLIAMS of near Conant Sunday. Dr. THUT has moved into his new home which he purchased of Dr. ALEXANDER. Quite a number from this village (Elida) attended the Sunday school convention which was held at Lima past week. Wm. LAND was a business caller at Lima Monday. Professor LEIDY has moved into the home which was recently vacated by Dr. THUT. Mrs. Mary HARMON of Trumbull county and Mr. Solomon BRUNK and family of Marion Township spent Sunday with Mr. Charles STALTER and family of east Main street., (Elida). Born to Mr. and Mrs. Harry JOHNS east of Elida Monday morning a boy and a girl, all doing nicely. Mr. J.H. BRENNEMAN and family of "Dutch" Hollow, Sundayed with Mr. Simpson STEMEN and family. Edward REEDY the cattle buyer received a car load of beef-cattle from Cincinnati Saturday which he expects to market in near future. Mr. Earl REEDY, of Indianapolis came Saturday for a few weeks visit, with friends and relatives here. Mr. Paul LUTTERELL of Nowata, Okla., arrived here Sunday evening and will visit his parents Mr. and Mrs. John LUTTERELL and other friends for a couple of weeks. Mr. J.E. JOHN the hog buyer shipped a fine lot of hogs to Pittsburg last week. Mr. Harry SNOVEL of Lima was in Elida on business Monday. Mr. and Mrs C.E. FLINCHBAUGH and daughter Madeline of Lima, and Miss Grace STEMEN were the guests of their parents Mr. and Mrs. J.C. STEMEN Sunday. Charles HOLTZAPPLE of west of here moved to Elida Monday. Mr. Oscar HOLTZAPPLE and family visited Sunday with Mr. HELZER and family east of Elida. Mrs. Andy HILYARD has been quite indisposed for the last week. Mr. Harry BIGELOW of 5 miles west of Delphos is the guest of his sister Mrs. Harry HILYARD for a few days. Mr. J.B. SAWMILLER and family are now located in their beautiful new home on east Main street (Elida). Mr. and Mrs. Amos A. MILLER spent Sunday in the country with Mr. Lee REILY and family. Mr. Fred MILLER and family were also guests of Mr. Lee's Sunday.
