    3. Lima Daily Times, Dec 5, 1890 Nov 27, Mr. John SHRIDER and son Thomas, of Maysville, spent a part of Thanksgiving as guests of Mr. and Mrs. John SHRIDER here. Mr. and Mrs. Frank GESTINGS, of Ada, were the guests of their many relatives here. The Lafayette schools were dis-missed for four days in consequence of the Thanksgiving season. School resumed operations Dec. 1. Mr. and Mrs. BATES, of Bluffton, were the guest of their daughter, Mrs. Arthur WATT. Mr. Wm. WATT, who 40 years ago was a good quail trapper, started out November 27 to get a mess for dinner. He was cautious enough to take a good gunsman with him. They succeeded in getting one, and for fear they would lose that one, they took the nearest way home, glad that they did not get lost themselves. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. HEATH, on the evening of November 26, a daughter, November 27, HEATH was full of Thanksgiving. Died on Sunday, November 30th, the child of Mr. and Mrs. John CORNELL, aged about 18 months. Interrment at Lutheran cemetery, Monday, Dec 1. J. BECHTOL has made some improvement on his store house, by having the west end made square. Mr. Arthur WATT is now nursing the thumb on his left hand, which he accidently wounded by running the blade of his pocket knife through the fleshy part of his thumb. E. FISHER, who has leased a lot adjoining our village, of W.B. WEYER, is now busily engaged in putting up a saw mill. He has men cutting logs for him, several hauling, and in a few days will be ready to do general work for all applicants. Edward M. SHRIDER and Miss Jennie GRANT were married and have started to unravel the puzzle whether it is easier to get married than it is to keep house. December 3, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan TULLIS returned home after a temporary residence in Dakota. Last March Mr. TULLIS rented his property here to Thomas DOTSON, and then went west to run a boarding house on a western railroad. After filling his contract he, with his family, returned to Lafayette, being absent about eight months.
