The deceased was 86 years of age and had been a resident of the county for the past 52 years. About 3 years ago he retired from his farm, eight miles east of the city on the Marion road, and with his wife, moved to the home of his daughter. He was prominent in his community, and in public life served many terms as school director. Surviving to mourn his death are the wife and seven children, three sons, Cyrus and Marion, of Auglaize township, and George W., of Lima, and four daughters, Mrs. Charles Long, Mrs. Arthur Poling, and Mrs. William Jamison, of Lima, and Mrs. Luther McKenney, of Harrod. Funeral services will be held at the U.B. church, Allentown, on Thursday morning at 1 o’clock, the Rev. Billie Miller officiating, and interment will be made in the Allentown cemetery.
