    3. Lima Daily News, Nov 16, 1918 A.J. NICHOLS, charged with assulting his wife Rose NICHOLS, was fined $25 and court costs this morning in police court when he appeared before Judge BOTKINS, and sentenced to 30 days in the workhouse. Mrs. Florence GERARD, 115 east Eureka street, has been informed by the war department that Frants MERCER, Lima soldier, was wounded in battle, degree undetermined. David KIRKLAND, 20, died at the State hospital this morning of influenza followed by pneumonia. The body will be shipped to Paden City, West Virginia. Ephram HILYARD, 65, died after a six month illness of a complication of diseases at the city hospital. Mr. HILYARD was born in Allen county, and was a carpenter. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the United Brethren church in Elida. Rev. BIDDLE officiating. Interment in Greenlawn. Surviving are the wife and six children, one daughter and five sons. Mrs. Josie Mable NEELY, 40, wife of Clifton NEELY, of 701 Linden street, died at 5:15 this morning at her home. She had been ill for 10 days with influenza and pneumonia. She was born in Beaverdam, Ohio, February 9, 1879, and was the daughter of Emanuel WEAVER. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence. They will be private. Rev. HOFFMAN will officiate. Surviving are the husband, two daughters, Mrs. Irene PALMER, and Camilla NEELY, also one son, Eugene, of Lima, who is stationed at Camp Jackson, also four sisters and four brothers. Mrs. NEELY was a member of Grace Methodist church, and was a member of the Protective Home Circle. Griff J. EVANS, 64, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.E. SHOOK Friday night of a complication of diseases. Mr. EVANS has been ill for over a year. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 o'clock at Gomer. Interment in Gomer. Surviving are thewife, one daughter Mrs. W.E. SHOOK, and on son Roy EVANS of this city. Ralph SHAMOOD was fined $10 on a charge of intoxication in police court this morning. He was driving his auto in this condition and broke down the bulletin board in front of the Times-Democrat office on east High street. Mrs. George GLOVER, was called to Pittsburg today by the serious illness of her husband, who was stricken in a Pittsburg hotel. Williams and Davis, removed Mary O'CONNOR from 701 north Main street to the city hospital this morning.
