His father was William Akerman from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. William Henry Akerman was my Great-grandmother's first husband. Her name was Mary Jane Ransbottom and married Nathaniel Hawk after William Henry died. Theres a lot more on Rootsweb.com. Mary Jane Ransbottom was buried in the old cemetery in Lafayette along with William Henry on the Akerman plot. (not with 2nd husband) I came on this due to an entry in my grandmother's bible where she talks about William Henry and his son, Walter. Are you a descendant of this family?
