I just happened to be working on that death index from Ancestry.com. I had accessed it through Vital search as a guest. However, I have come up empty handed. Searched for all Hoovers in Clatsop Co. (after a search for edward Hoover came up empty.) No Edward, no 1904. Are you positive on your death place? Maybe the hospital deaths did not make the list.
