Ellis Francis(1806-1880) and his wife Catherine (nee Jones) (1817-1893) left Llanbrynmair, Wales in 1852 on board the ship Senator and after settling for three years in Pennsylvania, moved on to Putnam County from 1855 to 1862, and then to Sugar Creek in Allen County. The couple had 7 children and their offspring lived in Lima, Fort Wayne, Gomer and as far a field as Redondo Beach California. The second child, Susan Francis (1843-1934), married Thomas Henry Jones(1835-1914) of Gomer and had 5 children: Gwen Pence (1868-1945), Josiah Francis Jones(1870-1930), Myvanwy Jones (1872-1952), Harry O Jones(1875-1964) and Ellis F Jones(1880-? ). The Macomb Daily, Macomb County, Michigan dated Wednesday, July 12, 2006 GENEVIEVE COUGHLIN Genevieve Coughlin (nee Szymanski), 90, a resident of Chesterfield Township for the past three years, died Monday, July 10, 2006, in Mount Clemens General Hospital. She was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Coughlin, formerly of Clinton Township, retired July 4, 1981, as a claims reviewer for the State of Michigan. Her family described her as an expert seamstress and an adventurer at heart. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, golfing and good food. She married Edward Coughlin, a former assistant state attorney general, on Oct. 5, 1940, in Detroit. She was widowed at an early age and raised her four children after her husband died. Mrs. Coughlin is survived by her children, Maureen Combs of Chesterfield Township, Michael (Elaine) Coughlin of Port Huron, Patricia Ascione Coughlin of Ann Arbor and Colleen Coughlin of Berkley; grandchildren, Thomas (Holly) Pink, Gerald (Tammy) Pink, Amy (Michael) Migliara, Kristen, Erin and Kelly Coughlin, and Wendy and Mark Ascione; and great-grandchildren, Andrea, Alex, Giulia, Angelina, Dominic, Miles and Paul. She was predeceased by her husband Edward, on May 6, 1958; siblings, William Szymanski, Walter Szymanski, Sophie Rynkowski, Mary Gorzelewski, Helen Kendzior, Richard Szymanski and Anthony Sherwood. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gendernalik Funeral Home, 35259 23 Mild Road, New Baltimore. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Friday.
