May 22, 1986 Memorial services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday at Chiles and Sons – Laman West Wayne Street Chapel for Samuel W. Cullen Sr., 67, of Lima. He died Wednesday at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Sidney, the son of Samuel B. and Cora May Todd Cullen. His wife Frances Cullen died in 1974. He then married Carolyn Osborn, who survives. Mr. Cullen was a former employee of the Checker Cab Co. and was a member of the Salvation Army, the Loyal Order of the Moose, Side Band International and the Allen County Radio Band Club. Survivors include four sons, Harry Mack Cullen, Samuel Cullen Jr., and Arthur David Cullen, all of Lima and Samuel Joe Cullen; one daughter, Katherine Cullen of Lima; two grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Henry Cullen of Lima; and two sisters, Martha Jane Decker of Fulton, Calif. and Betty Ann Cullen of Toledo. Major Paul Downing will officiate for the service. The body has been cremated. Lima News, Mon. Sep 1, 1986 Thomas H. Cullen Sr., 63, of Lima, died at 11:30 am Sunday at Lima Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 24, 1922, in Sidney, the son of Samuel B. and Cora May Todd Cullen. On May 23, 1923, he married Dorothy L. Wallace, who died Dec. 18, 1974. On July 17, 1979, he married Rose Cullen, who survives. Mr. Cullen was retired. He was a member of Lima Eagles. Survivors also include four sons, Thomas H. Cullen Jr. and Jeffrey Cullen, both of Harrison, Mich., Raymond Cullen and Ricky Cullen, both of Lima; seven daughters, Peggy Glover, Mrs. Fred (Carol) Smith, Debra Fowler and Rebecca Cullen, all of Lima, Mrs. Timothy (Tammy) Shepherd of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Charles (Judy) Rochester of Defiance and Mary Reed of Augusta, Ark.; 40 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Martha Jane Decker of Foulton, Calif., and Betty Campbell of Toledo. Services will be at 3 pm Wednesday at Chiles and Sons – Laman West Wayne Street Chapel, Rev. Gus Wuorinen officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Elida. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Lima News, Sun. Sep. 8, 1974 Frances A. Cullen, 50, 901 W. North, was dead on arrival at St. Rita’s Hospital early Saturday morning. Death was due to an apparent heart attack. Born in Veetersburg, Aug. 29, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Lelia Marshall Odle. Mrs. Cullen was a member of the Salvation Army and served as welfare secretary of that organization for more than 13 years. Surviving are her husband, Samuel; one son, Samuel Jr. of St. Joseph’s Ind.; four brothers, Charles, Donald, Jack, and Nye, all of Toledo; three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Ruth) Long of Uniopolis, Mrs. Barbara Shetler of Oak Harbor and Mrs. Zona Shetler of San Antonio, Texas; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 3 pm Tuesday in Siferd Main Street Chapel, Captain James Mosher officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.
