My 3xgreat-grandfather died in 1881 in the Highland County Poorhouse. The records wound up in the Highland County Historical Society. They have limited hours (open only 4 hours on Friday) so they never answered any of my e-mails. I posted a query to the Highland County Ohio list and fortunately someone on the society's board of directors found the record for me. Hope this helps, and good luck to you! Shari in Ohio
