Hi Norita, Been awhile since we corresponded. It is not greed at all, and the ACGS did not ask Mark to take down his site, his site is valuable and I am always recommending researchers visit there. I have worked closely with many genealogy societies through the years, the publications are a very small money maker, the money is used to purchase more county research material and believe me it takes allot of time and volunteers to compile one book. I compiled 4 books for a society that took allot of my own money to get the master copy done for printing. Just like the time, money and hours put into any society's books. Some of the work compiled in the publications were not public records, but was given permission to be copied by the society. If anyone has questions or remarks about the Allen County Genealogy Society publications, please contact me privately. Gloria Motter mottergloria@yahoo.com How anyone could take public records and claim them as their work is be on me. So many genealogists have worked so hard to preserve their and our heritage for our families. This leaves a bad taste for many of to share our info with anyone else. Mark I feel so bad for you and the rest of us and angry that greed is keeping our " Public" Records from helping someone else!!!!! Norita Shepherd Moss
