    3. Dave, and Wendy.... Dave, you may already know this, but there is an Eastern Mennonite University there in Rockingham Co VA, either in or close by to Harrisonburg - Dayton perhaps?, and I believe I'd heard that they have a history collection there. See this web page: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohallen/mennohist.htm Note that there was a marriage (above piece) between Christian and Margaret (Moyer) Stemen who were among those who were part of this migration. Many of these families including the Stemen and Moyer people were from Rockingham County, Virginia prior to their entry into Fairfield Cty, Ohio. Some of the Stemen people held prominent positions in the church. Not as sure about the Moyer's. I think as part of your research efforts you may want to concentrate on the Mennonite people, and in particular in Rockingham Cty, VA as that was a Mennonite settlement there as well. See if you may find your George Moyer there. Do you know where in Fairfield Cty he was located (Township)? If you tell me that I may be able to verify whether he lived near other Mennonite families in Fairfield Cty which would be another clue. 3. LeRoy, have you ever been to the library at EMU? I've been doing searches of their catalog, and it appears that they have considerable reseach materials (mostly books) available. I could see myself spending time there if I was ever in that area.
