Lima News, Jan 6, 1924 Donald H. PACKER and Edward SWEZEY, both of St. Marys, on Friday enlisted in the Engineer's branch of the United States navy, at the Marion recruiting station. They were assigned to the naval training station at Hampton Roads, Va., near Norfolk. Frank BOWERSOCK, 67, Salem-tp, and Robert BROOKS, 74, Amanda-tp died at their homes Friday. Each man was a well known farmer, BOWERSOCK having retired recently from active work. Apoplexy was the cause of BOWERSOCK's death. Surviving him are besides the widow, seven children and many relatives. Funeral services will be held at the Christian church Sunday at 10: 30 a.m. Burial at Ft. Amanda. BROOKS is survived by the widow and six children. Funeral services will be held at Hartford church Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Hartford cemetery mausoleum. Mrs. Gertrude BRADY, mother of J. Alen BRADY, State-st, died Saturday at her home in St. Marys. Mrs. BRADY had been in ill health for a number of years, but death was hastened by complications. Mrs. BRADY was a sister to Mrs. E.R. CURTIN, Sr. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at the Catholic church in St. Marys. The body will be accompanied to Lima for burial in Gethsemani here. Mrs. J.W. KIMMEL, 67, Bluffton, slipped upon the hard wood floor at her home, Saturday morning sustaining a broken knee cap in the fall. Mrs. KIMMEL is the mother of Mrs. HAMILTON, wife of H.H. HAMILTON, undertaker, W. High-st. Mr. and Mrs. H.O. DICKEY, 702 N. Baxter-st announce the birth of a son. He has been named David. An automobile driven by Raymond CONWAY, 1109 Boyer-st, was struck by a street car on E. McKibben-st Saturday. No one was injured altho the automobile was damaged considerably.
