She was born in Salem, OH, she lived in Auglaize Co OH, and later in Allen Co OH. Her parents and some Leach relatives lived in Donora, PA. at some periods. If we all help each other, we can do great things. Effie Catherine Leach was born March 21, 1878 in Salem, Columbiana Co, OH. Her father was James Augustus Leach b. 2-11-1852 Salem, OH, s/o Thomas Lupton Bain Leach b. 1-25-1826 Salem, OH, s/o James W. Leach b. 1802, who lived in Salem, OH from 1809 to 1888 when he died there. Effie's mother was Mary E. Miller b. 2-23-1850 Esslingen, Germany. That is a suburb of Stuttgardt. Her parents were John D. Miller b. 10-9-1824 Wurttemberg d. 7-29-1902 Perry twsp (Lima), Allen Co OH. and Margaret Werner b. 9-6-1821 Wurttemberg, d. 1-21-1905 Perry twsp (Lima), Allen Co., OH. Effie Catherine Leach was born and raised in Salem, OH. Her maternal grandparents lived near Lima, OH. I think that Effie must have met and married Benjamin Lhamon because of visiting her grandparents, or spending time with them in summer. The name is spelled LHAMON, but in several cases it was mis-spelled as LEHMAN. The LEACH family were Methodists in Salem, OH and the MILLER family is buried at St. Paul's Evangelical Cemetery in Lima, so I would imagine that the LHAMON family were Protestants, and might be Lutheran? I suppose that Effie and Benjamin married about 1895, maybe in Columbiana Co or perhaps in Allen Co OH. Shamon (Lhamon) 1874 Effie C. 1878 Roberta 1897 Emma 1900 Ralph 1901 Russel 1909 In the 1920 census, Union, Auglaize Co OH Benjamin Lhamon 1875 Effie 1879 Russel 1910 In the 1930 census, Lima, Allen Co OH Benjamin Lhamon 1874 Effie 1878 Russel 1910 Goldie 1912 (wife of Russel) On www.ancestry.com World Tree, there is a listing for Benjamin O. Lhamon b. 3-12-1874 Waynesfield, Auglaize Co OH, s/o Michael Herrod Lhamon b. 10-18-1836 OH and Mary King b. 9-14-1839 PA. Benjamin died 1948, and is buried at Fairmount Cemetery. This is the same cemetery that James A. Leach and Mary E. Miller Leach are buried at. They are the parents of Mrs. Benjamin Lhamon. This listing states Benjamin and Effie had 5 kids: Emma; Roberta; Russell; Ralph; Lydia. I would love to know more about this family, and especially any descendants of this Lhamon family. Effie C.
