For Shirley Palmer.... I have a Catharine Bowman appearing in Allen Co, originally from Wayne Co OH - marrying a Protsman in 1873 in Wayne Co. - who was in Wayne Co. more than once. The Protsman married her there, and his first son by his first wife was born there - and apparently his parental family was there in Wayne Co for some time. He obviously also had some knowledge of Bowmans before his first marraige to an Elliott lady who died in ~1870. Many Bowmans there in Wayne... His mother died when he was young, in about 1813. His father died in 1822, but the family had moved to Indiana by that time. I do not know the names of the mother or the father. Could you scan through your KY obits to see if the name BRANHAM appears? I would be looking for a woman who left a son named Simeon. There may have been a John, Linsfield, and Daniel, but I know very little about this family. I would be surprised if you find anything, but I hate to leave any stone unturned. LeRoy, Thank you for looking. My last BOWMAN, died in Tennessee in 1865. Elizabeth Bowman had married John Byerly. Her son did migrate to Allen County, OH just before the Civil War.
