    3. Dear Kay, The earliest Miller I have, is John D. Miller, Sr b. 1823 Wurttemberg, he immigrated to America in 1853, and we 'think' he was in PA prior to settling at Lima, OH prior to the 1800 census. We still have no idea WHEN he came to OHIO first, or where he was from 1853 to 1880 census. But he lived at Lima, OH from 1880 to 1902, his death. Wurttemberg is a province in Germany, in 1823 Germany had not been founded yet, it was a 'patch-work-quilt' of small Principalities and such. I feel that the 1849 Revolution in Germany is what caused John D. Miller, sr to leave Germany for America. Miller is such a very common name, that there must be thousands, if not millions?, of immigrants named Miller. Some might be English or Irish, but many will be GERMAN, and the original name might have been MULLER or MUELLER. I still have not found his immigration information, but in one census in Lima, OH he stated he came in 1853, if that is true then his first son John D. Miller Jr b. 1854 Pennsylvania was possibly his FIRST child born in America. But where in PA was he born? I am still trying to find his death record in Oregon, in case his place of birth would be noted on it. Ohio had so many GERMAN families, and many had arrived in OHIO directly from Pennsylvania. I have also studied the GERMAN community in Canton, Stark Co OH, because that was the place they had a German Language newspaper, and many Germans gathered there. I have even had a THEORY that my John Miller, Sr family was living in Paris, Stark Co OH in 1872, based on the fact that my great grandfather was born there, and neither of his parents lived there, so why would his mom leave her home in Salem, OH to go to Paris, Stark Co OH (not too far away) and have her FIRST baby? Was it because she went to her MOTHER's home to have the baby? Ity makes sence, but I have never found the proof, yet. I did write to Stark Co OH authorities, and they said they have no birth record for my Great Grandpa William E. Leach b. 1872 Paris, Stark Co OH (West of Salem, Columbiana Co OH), his mother was Mary E. Miller b. 1850 Germany, d/o John D. Miller, Sr and Margaret Werner. Also, John D. sounds very ENGL:ISH, and I have thought that the true name was probably Johan Dietrich Miller/Muller/Mueller, or Johannes. I don't have any Clark names, but my Murphy name is: Daniel B. Murphy b. about 1867 OH, married about 1898 to Mary Elizabeth Leach, they lived at 747 Holly st, Lima OH in 1928, and in the 1930 census they lived at 744 S. Metcalf st, Lima, OH and he was a watchman for a Solar Refinery. Mary's parents both died in Lima, OH in 1922 and 1928. 3. Dear Lilly My maiden name was Miller and I have had quite a time in finding anything on my father's family. My father died when I was young and so what I have was given to my sister by our gandfather who was lived until just before his 97th birthday in 1973. The problem is he only ever kept in contact with only his youngest sister Mary-Margaret (Molly) and that was it, so what I have is from his memory. This what I have and thought maybe you could help. My Albert Charles Miller born Aug 1876 in Wapakoneta, Auglaize County,Ohio. His parent were Frank E. & Ida (Day) Miller. All I have one them is their marriage date of Feb 29, 1876 in St Marys, Auglaize Co., Oh. According to my grandpa, Frank's father was John Miller born in Bovakia, Germany and he understoond that the orginal spelling was Mueller. Did not remember his grandmother's but she was born in Germany. John and his wife had 7 children with William and Frank being the 2 oldest. The other siblings he names were Jake,John, Mary, Lou, & Kate. William married and had at least 6 children Frank (my ggrandfather) died sometime around 1889 or 90 when Molly was 3 years old. Frank & Ida had a total of 6 children Albert, Edaith who I beleive died at age 2, Gilbert, Clarence, Ferdinand and Molly. Jake Married John never married Mary married and was said to have lived in Toledo, Ohio Lou never married Kate married and was said to have lived in MIchigan this is my biggest brick wall in my entire genealogy history on both my side and my husband's side and with the entire family now gone it is even harder. My portion of the Miller family name stopped with myself and 3 sisters. I have gotten birth records on some of my grandfather's siblings with the exception of my grandfather and Aunt Molly. They both always said they were born in Wapakoneta but the only records I have found are on the other 4. With Allen and Auglaize being next to each other they may have been in Allen County. I am hoping someone can help Marilyn Bartenslager Greenville, Ky >From: "Lilly Martin" <malik@scs-net.org> >Reply-To: ohallen@rootsweb.com >To: <ohallen@rootsweb.com> >Subject: [OHALLEN] Reply: Miller, Clark, Murphy >Date: Fri, 13 Oct 2006 09:18:04 +0200 > >Dear Kay, > >The earliest Miller I have, is John D.
