She provided me the dates of deaths. I just clicked on Search>Ohio>then went to the newspapers and found the Lima News. I just went to the paper needed and looked for it. Obits usually on page 2 thru 4. You can also use the Search feature but I have found it not always to work. Or at least not for me sometimes. > > In a message dated 12/30/2006 7:21:00 P.M. Ancestry.com has the Lima Daily News images online. I have found information on my family by searching the news. Your picture might be in the news. -----Original Message----- From: ohallen-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ohallen-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Steve Allbritton Sent: Saturday, December 30, 2006 7:41 AM To: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com; ohallen@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [OHALLEN] BASEBALL IN 1920'S & 30'S LIMA OHIO Rene, My great grandfather and his brother played for the Celina Independents in 1900. Ellis Francis(1806-1880) and his wife Catherine (nee Jones) (1817-1893) left Llanbrynmair, Wales in 1852 on board the ship Senator and after settling for three years in Pennsylvania, moved on to Putnam County from 1855 to 1862, and then to Sugar Creek in Allen County. The couple had 7 children and their offspring lived in Lima, Fort Wayne, Gomer and as far a field as Redondo Beach California. The second child, Susan Francis (1843-1934), married Thomas Henry Jones(1835-1914) of Gomer and had 5 children: Gwen Pence (1868-1945), Josiah Francis Jones(1870-1930), Myvanwy Jones (1872-1952), Harry O Jones(1875-1964) and Ellis F Jones(1880-? ). I would be pleased to hear from any descendents as I am related through Catherine. Dr Robert G Jones
